Marketing Tips for the Holidays
Ok, so I couldn't help it with sharing a few tips this year. Because it is the most magical content time, but it can also be the busiest. Here are some things I've been hearing and seeing that might help you with your 2021 holiday marketing plans…
Black Friday is starting even earlier than ever.
More than one of my clients will be starting their sales on Monday of next week to get ahead of those bigger retailers. Even though that seems crazy, it's actually a really smart strategy for ecomm sales.
Burnout and Stress seem to be the biggest topics - ever.
"The Great Resignation" is a thing, and so is the fact that for Americans, stress symptoms peak in the months October-December. Double up on the wellness practices that support you and if you're a brand that can encourage this - even better. Some things I'm doing are participating in Sunshine Extracts' 21-Day CBD challenge, taking active rest days for some soulful yoga, and not scheduling morning meetings so that I can let myself wake up naturally most days.
Shorter is sweeter.
For subject lines and social media captions, that's been what's getting people to click. Heck, some brands aren't even putting captions in Reels anymore. Play with it. But generally, for headlines and CTAs, this is a good rule of thumb.
Picking cool numbers.
Ok, this is not really a suggestion but more of an observation. I've been noticing a lot more brands play with fun numbers like launching on 11/11 or selling something for $777. Just a trend? I'll let you decide if you want to try it.
Lastly, let's have a bit of FUN.
We're together again. Perhaps, yes, we are making up for some lost time. I freaking love Christmas parties, sip n shops, and decking the halls. So even if social schedules are filling up, I'm going to relish in it once I get there and use this season as an excuse to reconnect, give some hugs, and pop the bubbly.
What are you planning on this year? I’d love to know if this resonated with you. Let me know! I’m just an Instagram DM away 😊
