My Favorite Projects of 2023

To pick “favorites” is really hard. As my fourth year running my own business, this was the one that truly felt the most in flow. My clients were wonderful, I did more Brand Messaging projects than ever before (which was a goal of mine), and I was able to hire some experts to help me make a few upgrades to my own internal business systems and branding. All of that feels really grounding heading into a new year — one that will undoubtedly look very different in terms of my schedule and workload than in the past!

Alright, the countdown is on! Here are some of my favorite highlights from 2023:

Favorite Brand Messaging Project

This one was SO hard to pick. As I said, this is the category of work I did the most projects in this year. But Zephyr is my pick because the messaging that came out of our sessions was just so soulful. When I read it still makes my heart feel yummy. Brand Messaging is truly the backbone for so much marketing content that a brand creates and Zephyr’s turned out so very connective, uplifting, and just feel-good.

Favorite Web Copy Project

I have to cheat a little and declare it as a tie between Frontier Rustic Designs and san studio. For both clients, I had the opportunity to work on their Brand Messaging as well. But what I loved even more was the application of turning it into website copy. Frontier Rustic Designs was a full rebranding project, and I just love the way the layout and copy flow together to make a website that is both beautiful and useful. And san studio is a brand new brand (officially opening in January!) that is bringing a new workout philosophy to the scene, so the web copy needed to be clear, informational, and intriguing.

Favorite Social Media Content

@florencecoffeeco ~ Every content brainstorming session left me craving a cozy latte. This down-to-earth local business makes quality drinks with all-natural ingredients and has a wonderful family business story. Writing captions for Florence Coffee Co. throughout the year was pure FUN!

Favorite Email Project

Windrift Hill is my pick here because of the impact starting an email marketing strategy had for this brand. Amber, the CEO of Windrift Hill, would share numbers with me on our monthly calls about how each email campaign had significantly boosted their ecommerce sales. For the content, I suggested focusing on monthly newsletters that told the origin stories of the brand and promotional emails that were centered around the benefits of using goat milk skincare and the family's passion for farm-fresh ingredients. The messages were effective and honest and they resulted in authentic engagement. Getting forwarded the email responses from their customers made my heart so happy.

Favorite Blog Posts to Write

Working with Sheryl Wright, founder of Dare to Detour, on various marketing projects throughout the year has been a true pleasure, and she has become a dear friend. Among the many projects, my favorite has been encouraging her to unleash her voice through thoughtful, humorous, and helpful weekly blog articles that are shared as a weekend newsletter digest. Sheryl is all energy and joy, and her mission to support other women in connecting with that inner spirit comes from so many angles - there was never a shortage of topics to write about. Plus, I've picked up so many travel tips from her along the way!

As 2024 begins, I wanted to end this post with a note of so gratitude. I can't tell you how much it means to me to have every one of you here reading along, for your support and trust in my services, and for being a part of my community.

Thanks for the journey of 2023! Happy New Year.
